Years 3 - 6

"As students move into the Senior years in Primary school, we see a growing independence and self-awareness emerge."

As students transition into the senior years of Primary school, we witness a marked growth in independence and self-awareness. With learning behaviours becoming increasingly embedded and refined, students begin to take greater ownership of their choices and actions. During this formative stage, the pastoral care and intentional guidance of a teacher play a crucial role in supporting students’ personal and academic development.

Our educators are deeply committed to knowing each student as an individual. The strong foundation of partnership established with families and the broader community in the early years continues to be nurtured and drawn upon, ensuring a collaborative approach that prioritises the wellbeing and growth of each child.

Students are encouraged to think critically and creatively about the world around them, positioning themselves as thoughtful citizens, compassionate neighbours, and faithful stewards of all that God has entrusted to us. Through engagement with the NSW curriculum, they are guided to recognise their strengths, set purposeful goals, and identify areas for growth. This practice of self-reflection fosters a mindset that will serve them well beyond their primary schooling years.

To support and enhance learning, all students in Years 3–6 are provided with a College-issued iPad, integrated across all key learning areas. In addition, they participate in weekly specialist lessons in Information Technology, Music, and Physical Education, further enriching their educational experience.

Experiential learning is also a valued component of the senior years. Students in Years 4, 5, and 6 take part in overnight excursions to locations such as CRU Lake Macquarie, Canberra, and Bathurst, which provide meaningful opportunities for personal growth and curriculum connection. In Year 6, students explore the concept of leadership and are supported in developing their leadership capacity through dedicated leadership portfolios. These include roles in the Primary Service Team, Student Leadership Team, House Captains, and the Buddy Program.
